Frequently Asked Questions

  1. What programs do I need to have installed on my computer to take Abilities Network Online Trainings?

Each training is different in how the information is presented. This means the programs used for each training will be different. Abilities Network uses Adobe Acrobat (PDF), Windows Media (WMV) and Adobe Flash (FLV) to deliver training materials. To determine which program is used with our specific trainings, refer to the Format section of each training description. It is expected that you will have Adobe Acrobat Reader, the current version of Adobe Flash, the most recent version of either Mozilla Firefox or Internet Explorer and Windows Media Player installed before taking a training on this site.

  2. Whenever I go to click on links in a training that contains a PDF, I get an error that reads: Safe Reading Mode. Check the Trust Manager preferences to change out of safe reading mode.

This error is specific to computers that run Firefox and Foxit, an alternative to Adobe Acrobat. To fix this, open Foxit Reader. Select Tools and choose Preferences. Select Trust Manager and uncheck Enable Safe Reading Mode. Disabling this setting will allow you to view links embedded in all training PDFs.
